Our new destinations page will feature gardens that our members have either visited or recommend others travel to see. As new gardens and water related gardens are spoken about at our meetings or visited on our tours, you will find links to those places located on this page. Many of the gardens and water gardens listed are world renown and you may have already visited some of them yourself.

Anderson Japanese Gardens - Finest Japanese Gardens outside of Japan. Located in Rockford, IL.

Biltmore Estate George W. Vanderbilt created the estate and its gardens in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina in 1895.

Butchart Gardens founded in 1904 at Tod Inlet, Vancouver Island, Canada The gardens were created by Mrs. Jennie Butchart the wife of the founder of Portland Cement.

Cantigny Gardens - Built by Colonel McCormick as one of his horse stables, the Visitors Center served as the First Division Museum from the early 1960's until the new museum was opened in 1993. Located in Wheaton, IL.

Chicago Botanic Garden created in 1972 by the Chicago Horticultural Society and has grown to become a premiere garden in the Midwest and is known the world over for its educational excellence, scientific community and its conservation ethics. The garden is located in Glencoe, IL.

Fernwood Botanical Gardens and Nature Preserve began as the country home of Kay and Walter Boydston, who purchased the first 12.5 acres in 1941. Additional land purchases increased the size to 105 acres, providing space for an arboretum, prairie restoration, and additional gardens. The Nature Center was constructed as an office building in 1973-74 and converted to its present use in 1989. The Mary Plym Visitors Center also opened in 1989.

Rotary Gardens - Dedicated to international Peace and Friendship. Located in Janesville, WI.

The Morton Arboretum was established by Mr. Joy Morton the founder of Morton Salt in 1922. The arboretum is know throughout the nation and the world for its work with trees and plants and its educational and scientific community. The arboretum is located in Lisle, IL.
